[09.11.2017] Publication in the "EU Research" journal

The "EU Research" journal published an article for the promotion of the Bots2ReC Consortium to interested people from research and industry and to the wider public:  "Robots that remove healts risks" in: EU Research WR17/P62-63
The open access paper with an interview of the project‘s Principal Investigator Burkhard Corves and the Scientific Project Manager Tim Detert gives an brief overview of the motivation and approach of the project.

The Bots2ReC Consortium has published an overview paper in the new “Construction Robotics” journal:

[22.09.2017] Finalists for the Innovation Radar Prize 2017

The Bots2ReC project and our partner Robotnik were selected as finalist for the Innovation Radar Prize 2017.

The European Commission has launched a competition to identify Europe's future innovatiors and their innovations. Up until 15 October 2017, people will be able to vote for their favourites among 48 nominees. These innovatiors have been identified through the European Commission's Innovation Radar initiative.
Bots2ReC and Robotnik are nominated in the "Early Stage" category, for their work on "Mobile robotic units for the removal of asbestos contamination." Vote on https://ec.europa.eu/futurium/en/innovation-radar-prize/best-early-stage-innovation.

[17.05.2017] Bots2ReC Testing Site under Construction

The construction of our testing site advanced in the last 2 month. We are setting up a hangar with a full scale mock up of a room (floor, 3 walls and ceiling for processing) and a separate control area. With this we will be able to test and develop all functionalities of our first version prototype in a realistic environment.

The walls will be coated with tiles, plaster and paint to create a realistic testing scenario for our tools and processes. We are looking forward to the implementation of the prototype on the testing site end of May.

[29.03.2017] Bots2ReC Review Meeting

Just after the ERF in Edinburgh, the Bots2ReC consortium, our project officer Anne Bajart and the team of experts met at the Eurecat facilities in Cerdanyola del Vallès for the first review meeting.

We presented the development process starting from the use case , explaining the detailed prototype developments and an outlook to the dissemination. Finally, the functional prototype was presented and everyone could observe an impressing mobile robot with a large reach and diamond disc cutting tool.

We are happy about the very good developments in the first year and the very good feedback and useful hints, we received from the reviewers and PO.

We are looking forward to our implementation meeting end of May, were theprototype will be implemented on the testing site for the next 1.5 years.
